This is freaking insane…
Rapha teamed up with Raeburn to create a new city riding jacket made from repurposed milatary parachutes which have been deconstructed and reconstructed integrating the original seams. I have been living in this jacket on and off the bike for weeks and can’t recommend it enough. It’s Weird enough to make people look twice, but technical enough to ensure it does it’s intended job. They will go on sale on Friday and they won’t last long. There are only 300 of each color and less than 1,000 worldwide.

A month ago, James from The 5th Floor, Glasgow came to me with an idea for a film that would take me back to Scotland, and I didn’t have to think twice about it.
Originally this was going to be a perfect opportunity for me to get some work done for a client, but when they didn’t come through with the goods I knew it meant I was free and given complete creative freedom. In hindsight this came more enjoyable.
When James and I started looking for locations we had only one thing in mind…MOUNTAINS, but I think I speak for us both when I say we was not expecting what we found.
Dubbed one of the hardest road climb in the UK, Bealach Na Bà is a pass that winds it’s way through the Applecross Peninsula. Climbing 2,054ft in 6 miles, the pass is one of the only remaining roads that was engineered after the roads of the Alps. With Hairpin turns and 20% grades, we knew we had found the perfect location. The next thing was the crew.
James gather a strong group of his riding buddies that all come from different disciplines of riding, amongst them was, Tim Pulleyn from The North Race in which this ride was in collaboration with.
Having had the pleasure of meeting him briefly last year, I knew he’d bring something to the table.
We was also fortunate enough to have some solid support from Alec Farmer of Trakke, a bag company that is based in Glasgow and uses british sourced material to create everything in his collection…my sort of company.
In addition, we had photograher, Szymon Nieborak. Having recently made the cover of Dirt Mag, I kew he would be producing some quality images, I was more worried of getting in his way.
With everything planned and dates set, all that was left was the ride.
I’ve had the great opportunity to film and photograph in some incredible places, but I’ll forever have a place in my heart for Scotland. It has some of the most beautiful landscape that the British Isles has to offer and it’s amazes me that the majority of people don’t even think about visiting. Then again, maybe thats a good thing.
I’m stoked to have worked on this project and with a fantastic group of riders and support crew and I looking forward to my next adventure up north beyond the boarder.

Dr. Matt Hoskinson killed it last week at Seminary Chapel. He is the Lead Pastor at First Baptist Church in the City of New York. His gospel-centered preaching was refreshing and motivating. One of the best sermons I’ve heard in a long time. Click on the image above to download his chapel message from the BBC website.
